In-chat actions

Send a WhatsApp payment link, booking link or form without leaving the chat

Choose a payment link, booking link, form or custom action from the menu in the message box. The customer opens it right in your WhatsApp conversation, and your agent stays with them from question to next step.

What is a WhatsApp payment link in Risponse?

A WhatsApp payment link in Risponse is a link to pay that your agent sends from the message box of a chat. It is one of four in-chat actions, next to booking links, forms and custom actions. It arrives in the chat the customer is already in, so questions about the payment get answered in the same place.

The problem

Customers say yes in the chat, then wait for the link

  • Links made somewhere else

The agent leaves the chat to create a payment link in another tool, copies it back and checks it is for the right customer and the right order.

  • Booking by back-and-forth

Is Tuesday free? What about 4 pm? Agreeing a time over chat can take a dozen messages before anything is actually booked.

  • Details asked one by one

Name, address, order number, a photo. Collected in loose messages, some details never arrive and the rest are hard to find later.

In the conversation

The link sits in the chat, next to the whole story

Actions go out from the message box, so a payment link lands in the same thread as the customer’s question, your reply and the team’s private notes. The next teammate who opens the chat can see what was sent and who sent it.

  • Sent by a named teammate. Every message sent from Risponse shows who wrote it, links included.
  • Notes beside the link. Leave a private note, such as which order the payment is for. Only your team can read it.
  • Forms and custom actions too. Collect several details in one go with a form, or send an action for a service your business offers.

Booking links

Two kinds of WhatsApp booking link

The phrase means two things. A wa.me link on your website or ads opens a WhatsApp chat with your number. A booking link in Risponse goes the other way: your team sends it inside the chat so the customer can book a time. You may want both.

  • Links that open a chat. A wa.me link starts a chat with your number. On a number connected to Risponse, that chat lands in your inbox like any other.
  • Links that book a time. Pick Booking link in the actions menu, and the customer chooses a time from the same chat.
  • A reminder the day before. Schedule a message in the chat so the reminder goes out on time, even when nobody is online.

Four actions

Everything the next step needs, sent from the message box

  • Payment links

Collect payments on WhatsApp for a deposit, an order balance or an add-on. The customer opens the link from the chat where they asked.

  • Booking links

WhatsApp appointment booking without a long run of messages about times. Send the link and let the customer pick a slot.

  • Forms

Ask for an address, an order number or traveller details in one go, instead of question after question.

  • Custom actions

Set up an action for a service your business offers, and send it from any chat the same way as the others.

  • One menu for all of them

All four actions sit in one menu in the message box, so every agent sends them the same way.

  • Part of the chat history

Each action stays in the conversation with the messages around it, so anyone picking up the chat later sees what the customer was sent.

When to use each

Pick the action that fits the next step

How to

Send a WhatsApp payment link in three steps

    Choose Payment link

How do I collect payments on WhatsApp?

Send a payment link in the chat when the customer is ready, and schedule a reminder message if they need more time. In Risponse, the payment link sits in the actions menu of the message box, so any agent can send one without leaving the conversation.

Which payment gateways and booking tools does Risponse work with?

This page does not list supported providers. Before you plan a rollout around a particular payment gateway, booking tool or form tool, ask the Risponse team whether it works with your workspace.

What is a WhatsApp booking link?

People use the phrase for two different links. One is a wa.me click-to-chat link that starts a WhatsApp conversation with your business, and that chat then shows up in your Risponse inbox. The other is a link your team sends inside the chat so the customer can pick a time, which Risponse sends from the actions menu.

Can I send a form in a WhatsApp chat?

Yes. Choose Send form from the actions menu in the message box, and the customer gets it in the same chat. Use it when you need several details at once, such as a delivery address and an order number, instead of asking for each one in turn.

Can I send payment reminders on WhatsApp?

Yes. Schedule a message in the chat to go out later, once or on a repeat, such as a monthly payment reminder. For many customers at once, a repeating bulk message can send payment or renewal notices daily, weekly or monthly. Only message people who agreed to hear from you.

Can I save my booking page link as a quick reply?

Yes. If you already use a booking page, save its link as a quick reply, such as /book, and any teammate can add it to a chat by typing the command. Quick replies are shared across the workspace, so everyone sends the same link.
